first tooth

On Monday May 7 I noticed that I could see the outline of John's tooth under his gum. Tuesday morning May 8 he woke up and had a tooth in his mouth. Bottom left tooth has made it's way in.

Our sweet baby boy turned 6 months old on Monday. He is such a good baby. Sleeps all night, sometimes up to 12 hours at a time. Doesn't nap real well, but I'll take sleeping all night over good naps any day. He's trying to sit up and can roll both ways. He's got the best little personality and the best smiles in the world. We couldn't ask for better. He now weighs 16 lbs 13 oz and is 26" long. He got 3 shots and while he cried during the shots, he was great the rest of the day.

4 months old

John saw his first snowfall on Tuesday night. He wasn't quite sure what to think of it.

my sweet baby boy is 4 months old now. He turned 4 months on Thursday Jan 19 and it wasn't a good day for him. He went to the doctor and got 2 shots and was a miserable mess all day. He now weighs 14 pounds and is 25 inches long/tall. His head is 16 inches. Funny because at 4 months old his head is only an inch bigger then Jakob's at birth.

January 5, 2012....he's playing with toys now

I've had this toy out for John many times but all he's done is look at it. Today he started playing with the toys hanging from it and was entertained for long periods of time at a time.

LOL, this is Jakob's Cupcake, stuffed cat...he's been wearing this outfit for a long time now. Today I found the matching outfit in a bag in my closet. It fits John now and sure as heck won't fit come summer, so I put it on him to take pictures of them together.

My New Years Eve. date. John and I spent the afternoon with Pam and Sam. Both babies were so good and so happy all day.

Dec 29, 2011....rolling baby

John started rolling over from his back to his belly. For the most part he doesn't like it too much. Even if you can't see him, you can tell he's on his belly again because he starts crying.

(1-5-12) today and yesterday he rolled to his belly, did a little "swimming" and trying to get back to his back, and then just laid his head down and went to sleep.

December 25, 2011...baby's first Christmas

December 24, 2011 Christmas Eve jammies

We have always gotten Jakob pajamas for Christmas eve. So of course we added John to this tradition this year. He wasn't overly impressed. He was just tired.

December 20, 2011..laughing baby

John started laughing today. He's let out a few hahas here and there, but today he was full on laughing at Grandpa. Ok, video won't load, but here is a picture. Cutest sound in the world.

December 19, 2011, 3 months old and early Christmas present

So our sweet baby boy is 3 months old now. Where has the time gone? He's getting happier, cuter and sweeter. He smiles all the time, sleeps like a champ and is generally a very happy baby.

He received a gift card from my cousin Vicki for Christmas. One of the things I got him with it was a package of wrist rattles. As you can see he loves them.

November 18, 2011 first sickness and November 24, 2011 First Thanksgiving

Jakob came home the week before Thanksgiving with sore throat and cough. He ended up missing two days of school because of it. So the week of Thanksgiving John started coughing and not feeling well. Poor little guy was pretty miserable, but still able to sleep well. Just made his Mommy sad. On Thanksgiving we had the whole family over and they of course played pass the baby. He slept most of the day and really didn't feel well. Took him awhile, but he got over it.

two month check up and turned 2 months old

My sweet baby boy had his 2 month check up on Thursday (Nov. 17) and turned 2 months old on Saturday. My baby is growing and getting so big. He now weighs 11 lbs 4 oz and is 22 1/2" long. His head is 15 1/2". He got his first set of shots and other then soreness, he did really well. No side affects at all.

John's first Halloween

Our sweet boy started sleeping though the night on October 25. John's first Halloween was a lot of fun. My friend Jenny loaned him a costume, so he dressed up at a darling little puppy. We took him out trick or treating with Jakob and everyone thought he was do cute they were calling people from inside the house to come and see him. Jakob was a police officer and John was his K-9 officer.

October 19..............Happy 1 month

Our baby boy has been with us for a month now. It's been a sleepy, yet wonderful month and I couldn't imagine my life without my little John John Maddux. He's a really good baby. He sleeps on average 4 hours at a time at night, gets up and has his bottle and his diaper changed and goes back to sleep for another 4 hours. Poor munchkin is gassy, but we get through it. His big brother loves him to peices and loves being a big brother. He's very helpful and loves doing stuff for John. John has been smiling since he was 2 weeks old and started 'talking' the day before he turned a month old. (other then the night when he was about 2 weeks old and started talking in his sleep) silly guy.

2 week appointment (a bit late) 3 weeks 3 days

John now weighs 8lbs 9oz and is 21 1/4 in. He's perfectly healthy. Has a slight heart mummer that we will be keeping an eye on, but the doctor isn't concerned about it.

Monday October 3

Our 2 week old baby boy is smiling at us. I was talking to him about my grandpa, whom he was named after. I told baby John that I wished he could meet his name sake, was getting emotional about it and John smiled at me. No pictures of it yet.

brotherly love

Jakob is in love with his baby brother. Every chance he gets he wants to hold him, or he's just watching him, comforting him or just talking to him. One day John was crying and Jakob started talking to him, John stopped crying right away and started again as soon as Jakob stopped talking. I think those two boys are going to have a very special bond.

On Friday September 23, John had his first bath. At first he wasn't too sure about it. But after he got used to the nice warm water he relaxed and enjoyed it.

going home

On Wednesday September 21, we got to go home. John and I were both doing so well they let us go home early. John went home weighing 7lbs 6oz. Only 2 oz down from his birth weight.
